FAQ

What materials do you use for your drawings?

Depending on the project:

- For my black and white drawings I combine charcoal, graphite and pan pastels.

- For the colored drawings I mostly use colored pencils and sometimes combine them with pastels or watercolor.

- I also do oil and acrylic paintings on canvas and alcohol ink abstracts.

What reference photos do you require?

Best reference photos are the ones with good quality and high resolution, made with traditional camera. Cell phone photos and selfies tend to be blurry and distorted.

A better quality reference photo will produce a more detailed drawing and i want to make sure you get the best work for your money.

I can work from old or damaged photos, but realistic expectations should be had for the final product.

Do you combine different photos into one?

Yes, if the photographs are appropriate to use in this way. For example, several single images of people or pets could be used together, but they need to be made from the same angle to look realistic when combined. If that is not possible, there is an option to make them fit into a collage style drawing. Whenever we discuss ideas, I will make sure we come up with the best composition for the photos provided.

What size drawings do you offer?

The smallest standard size I do is 8"x10". Standard sizes are best for finding ready made frames. Other standard sizes often used are 11"x14", 14"x18", 16"x20", 18"x24". I can do any other size, though it would have to be custom framed, resulting in a higher overall cost for the project.

European standard sizes are different and measured in cm. If you are from a country other than the US, we can discuss options to meet your needs.

What are your prices?

My prices depend on size and materials used, as well as the complexity of the project. Adding multiple faces, hands, objects, intricate clothing and background would increase the price. For black and white drawings I charge less than colored, because of the amount of time it takes.

What forms of payment do you use?

For online payments I mostly use PayPal, cashier's check or money order by regular mail. Other payment options can be arranged as well.

What is the payment and schedule process?

I require a 50% deposit, with the other 50% due after the completion of the product. Payment must be received before shipping. After we have discussed your order and the down payment is processed, your name will be added to my schedule and I will provide you with an estimated time of completion.

Does your price include shipping?

Shipping is not included. Depending on where you are located, in the US, or overseas we will discuss the method of shipping. The shipping price estimate will be added to the second payment.

Do you provide framing services?

I do not offer custom framing, but if you wish, I could take the work for matting and framing and use my best judgment to help with this process. The framing and shipping cost will be added to the final payment. Have in mind the weight of the frame will make the shipment more expensive.

How long will it take for my order to be completed?

It depends on the project and how many others are in front of it. Because of the detailed work I do times can vary, so if your order is urgent please notify me in advance to determine if it is possible to meet your deadline.

Late payments or failure to complete the project. What is the process?

- I offer extended payments if the client is not able to do just two. The drawing will be shipped as soon as the last payment is processed. I do appreciate honesty and delivering your payments on time.

- If you have paid your deposit but for some reason don’t want the completed artwork anymore, the deposit is not refundable.

- I send a digital image of the linework to be reviewed and a scanned final image with a watermark after completion of the project. If you are unhappy with the work in progress provided, I will make sure I follow all of your instructions and do my best to satisfy your needs. If the final result is still not up to your standards, you won’t have to pay the second half of the payment and the drawing won't be sent. I am proud to say that this has never happened in my entire career so no worries.

- The 50% deposit is not refundable unless for some unexpected reason I was physically not able to complete your order. In this case you will get all your money back.

Do you sell prints of your art?

I do sell prints of some of the artworks. Please contact me personally for a specific request.
